The "few laps" I happened to watch were the last 10. Holy shit, what a last lap accident!!! I changed the title of my post so I could add this part.
Franchitti went nose into the catch fence after getting into the back of Sato.
Before the accident, I was going to mention how miserable that circuit must be. Watching a in-car shot looks like supertrucks with how much those things are bouncing around the track.

yea.... I'm hoping the man involved is OK... I've met him once and he has the biggest nose and the biggest smile in Indycar

I'm ashamed my city let our track get that bad.

Reports are Dario has sore neck and back, and has gone to hospital for check ups. Lucky escape.

Even worse was the people in the grandstand. I was there yesterday all day from 6am to 6pm.
I recall that specific grandstand had seats that cost upwards of $500...that audience really got what they paid for...

In my opinion, I think the track was really a entertaining challenge. It put so much hell on the gearboxes and all the bumps made it difficult. The entire track was made upon Reliant's parking lots, and I got my $37 worth.
Still can't believe I blew $40 on food and drinks there yesterday though...it was so worth it.

I think Saturday's race was a lot more exciting than Sunday's though Sunday was pretty damn good.
I love street course races and am really glad Indycar is trying to do more of them.
